General information
Compassion Health Newmarket is for individuals without health insurance who are seeking to heal from chronic diseases and get off medications using lifestyle and naturopathic medicine.
For 60-days, Paradise Health's interdisciplinary clinic team provides comprehensive clinical care that includes naturopathic medicine, massage therapy, nutrition, exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, mental and spiritual counseling, and more to help you kickstart your journey towards optimal health and disease reversal.
The program is fully sponsored by the Newmarket Seventh-day Adventists and other generous partners whose desire is for everyone to experience vibrant health and a more abundant life.

Eligibility criteria
You are eligible to apply if you meet ALL the following criteria:
1. Resident of the Newmarket area (Newmarket, Aurora, Bradford-West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury, King, Whitechurch-Stouffville)
2. Has chronic disease/condition (see below)
3. No private health insurance that covers naturopathic or massage therapy
4. Financial limitation (e.g. low income, unemployed, disability leave, single parent, newcomer etc)
5. New patient (cannot be a current patient of Paradise Health)
6. Approval of application (see below)
Spots are limited and acceptance into the program is at the sole discretion of Paradise Health and its program partners.

The program's aim is to provide superior wholistic lifestyle medicine and naturopathic care to individuals who may otherwise be unable to access such care.

Program Components
Naturopathic and Lifestyle Medicine
Our team naturopathic doctors will develop a treatment plan personalized to your health goals and conditions using the latest evidence-based lifestyle and natural therapeutics.
Pre and post body composition assessment
Discover your % body fat, lean and fat mass, visceral fat, hydration, metabolic rate and associated health risks with award-winning InBody technology.
Pre and post blood tests
Massage Therapy with Registered Massage Therapists
Includes initial musculoskeletal, pain and postural assessment. Our RMTs use various modalities, essential oils, local hydrotherapies and remedial exercises as needed. Learn more here.
Nutrition
Our nutritionist will work with you to optimize our diet. You will learn the powerful advantages of a whole foods plant-based diet.
Pre and post CSEP fitness assessment with exercise therapy
Includes VO2 max aerobic fitness test (gold standard for assessing aerobic fitness), strength, flexibility, and balance assessments with a consultation with Certified Exercise Physiologist. You will receive an individualized exercise plan for the program.
2-day juice detox
Cold-pressed organic juices provided by Paradise Fields.
Hydrotherapy
Includes contrast hydrotherapy, contrast immersions, sauna, peat baths, constitutional hydrotherapy and fever therapy. Hydrotherapy treatments will vary depending on your health condition.
Medication management with Pharmacist
Gain a deeper understanding of your medications and receive ongoing monitoring throughout the program.
Peer support groups
Includes weight loss and mental health weekly meetings.
Marriage coaching
Includes comprehensive Gottman marriage assessment
Pastoral and spiritual counseling
Christian counseling and support to grow your spiritual health and navigate your deepest life questions.
Food and community
Discover menu ideas and support health community through free lunch events, health talks, walking groups and small group meetings.

How it works
1. Submit an application form (below) by July 24, 2024. The application will be reviewed and acceptances will be sent via email.
2. Initial assessment with Naturopathic Doctor. You will receive a lab requisition and an individualized treatment plan for the program.
3. Attend orientation on Sunday July 28 at 4 PM at Paradise Health Clinic
4. Juice Detox for first two days. Juices and instructions will be provided at orientation.
5. Next 7 weeks: Therapies, health talks, health coaching, support groups and consults based on your individual treatment plan prescribed by the naturopathic doctor.
6. Last week: Exit consults, blood test and assessments
7. Graduation! Sunday September 29 at 11 AM at Paradise Health Clinic
